Wakkanai, Hokkaido 稚内

Wakkanai is a northern city located in Hokkaido, Japan. It contains Japan's northernmost point, Cape Soya,
from which the Russian island of Sakhalin can be seen.

北防波堤ドームにはロシア語と思われる大文字が

稚内市は日本国内の最北端に位置しており、宗谷地方の行政・経済の中心地、ロシアサハリン州をはじめとする
北方圏への玄関口になっている。今回は鉄道事故で予約していた列車が終日動かないため、稚内駅近くのホテルに
宿泊、滞在した。
