Rishiri Island (利尻島) is a volcanic island in the Sea of Japan off the coast of Hokkaido, Japan.
The island is formed by the cone-shaped extinct volcanic peak of Mount Rishiri, Along with Rebun
Island and the coastal area of the Sarobetsu Plain, Rishiri forms the Rishiri-Rebun-Sarobetsu National Park.

利尻島は、北海道の北部、日本海上に存在するほぼ円形の島である。面積182キロ平米。島内には利尻富士町と
利尻町の自治体があり、島の総人口は約4,200人。北には礼文水道を挟んで礼文島を望む。
西南岸の麗峰湧水は、利尻山に降った雨水や雪解け水が山の地面を浸透して、30年余りもの長い年月を経て
湧き出している。利尻空港は島の北端に位置する。
