米国第3の都市、イリノイ州、シカゴの人口は290万人で、ニューヨーク、ロスアンゼルスに次ぐ
大都市である。北に位置するシカゴでは５月に春本番を迎える。その穏やかな気候は本当に心地よい。
しかし、冬は非常に厳しい。時にはミシガン湖から高層ビルの隙間を駆け抜けて強い風が吹き込む。
「Windy City」とも呼ばれることがあるが、その風は非常に冷たい。
