メトロポリタン美術館、ボストン美術館、シカゴ美術館が米国での３大美術館と言われ、コレクション
の質は高い。特別展示品以外は、フラッシュなしで撮影出来るが、デジカメの赤外線測定はなぜか規制
されているようだ。
米国では建物外での喫煙行為には規制を設けていない州が多いが、メイン州、ハワイ州、ここイリノイ
では建物出入口から一定の範囲内を禁煙とし、建物に出入りする人々が有害なタバコ副流煙の被害に
遭遇しないように配慮している。しかし、日本の多くの都市で見られる「路上喫煙禁止」の規制はない。
