南禅寺は、京都市左京区南禅寺福地町にある、臨済宗南禅寺派大本山の寺院である。本尊は釈迦如来、開基（創立者）は
亀山法皇、開山（初代住職）は無関普門（大明国師）。日本最初の勅願禅寺であり、京都五山および鎌倉五山の上に
おかれる別格扱いの寺院で、日本の全ての禅寺のなかで最も高い格式をもつ。

Nanzenji is a Zen Buddhist temple in Kyoto. Emperor Kameyama established it in 1291 on the site of his
previous detached palace. It is also the headquarters of the Nanzenji branch of Rinzai Zen. The precincts
of Nanzenji are a nationally designated Historic Site and the Hojo gardens a Place of Scenic Beauty.

禅林寺は、京都市左京区永観堂町にある浄土宗西山禅林寺派総本山の寺院。一般には通称の永観堂の名で知られる。
本尊は阿弥陀如来、開基（創立者）は、空海の高弟の真紹僧都である。当寺は紅葉の名所として知られ、古くより
「秋はもみじの永観堂」といわれる。また、京都に3箇所あった勧学院（学問研究所）の一つでもあり、古くから
学問（論義）が盛んである。

Eikando Zenrinji is the head temple for the Seizan branch of Japan's Jodo-shu (Pure Land) Buddhist sect,
located in Kyoto, Sakyo-ku. It is famous for its fall foliage and for its prominence in the past as a center of
learning. The Zenrinji compound is nestled in Kyoto's Eastern Mountain (Higashiyama), and its buildings,
most of them connected by covered walkways and staircases, are scattered among a range of heights.
