Suzhou is located west to Shanghai Municipality is accessible by an express train, CRH in 30 minutes.
The city is situated on the lower reaches of the Yangtze River and on the shores of Taihu Lake and is
a part of the Yangtze River Delta region. Suzhou is with an urban population of over 4 million
expanding to 10 million in the administrative area.

Hanshan Temple　寒山寺

The HanshanTemple, which means the cold- mountain temple, is a Buddhist temple and monastery in Suzhou.
Traditionally, Hanshan Temple is believed to have been founded during the Tianjian era, 502-519. Hanshan
temple was established in Ome, Tokyo in 1929.

(L) The bell of Hanshan: Two bells are currently used at Hanshan Temple, both dating from the late Qing Dynasty when
the temple was last built. One was forged in China in 1906, and the other was forged in Japan around the same time.

Suzhou Calm Garden is located next to the railway track, and because of noise released from a high-speed
train, it is not always calm. However, a garden trail around the small river makes a visitor rather relaxed.

When Marco Polo visited Suzhou in the 13th century, he saw "no fewer than fifteen thousand vessels" on the
canals and compared the city's intricate bridgework and architecture favorably to his hometown of Venice.
