Smoking Ban in the District of Columbia

says ' Smoking is prohibited in public places inside the terminal.
The D.C. Council gave final approval to a broad banned in bars, restaurants, night clubs, and other public
places, to add the nation's capital to a growing list of smoke-free cities and states. It exempted the outdoor
areas, hotel guest rooms, retail tobacco outlets, cigar bars, and business, which can show that they receive
10% or more of their annual revenue from tobacco sales, excluding cigarette bending machines.
The District's smoking ban, modeled closely on New York City's, enforced from January 2007.

2007年1月から首都、ワシントンでレストラン、バー、ナイトクラブでの喫煙を禁止する規制法を実施した。
ただし、ホテルの喫煙室、タバコの売り上げが売り上げの10％以上のシガーバーなどは規制から除外された。
北に隣接するメリーランド州では2007年5月から「Clean Indoor Air Act」が施行され、閉鎖空間内の職場、
レストランバー、クラブが全面禁煙となっている。南に隣接するバージニア州では、主要農作物は今なお
タバコだが、2009年12月からレストラン、バーでの喫煙が禁止されたものの、クラブとタバコ関連施設は
除外された。
